About Us
Priorities for Environmental Leadership is a project of 14 leading environmental groups. We are supported by over 150,000 British Columbians from every corner of the province. Together, we are developing more robust, focused and effective approaches to advancing environmental policy initiatives in British Columbia.
British Columbians have always had a deep love for the abundant natural beauty, clean healthy environment and rich ecological heritage of our province. Now public support for the environment is at a peak not seen for over twenty years. There has never been a better time to ensure that our shared environmental values are reflected in smart, win-win policies that safeguard our natural heritage and showcase the home-grown innovations British Columbia is known for.
That is why, each year, we propose a small number of achievable, high-impact policy priorities for the provincial government to demonstrate their environmental leadership.
The following organizations are involved in Priorities for Environmental Leadership:
BC Sustainable Energy Association
Better Environmentally Sound Transportation (BEST)
Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society - BC Chapter
Sierra Club of Canada - BC Chapter
Society Promoting Environmental Conservation (SPEC)
